Renovation and rehabilitation project of the DSPG building for the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB)

🚧 Moving towards a more efficient, comfortable, and sustainable ETSEIB 🌱
At OPTINOOS, we are proud to participate in the renovation and rehabilitation project of the DSPG building for the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB), an iconic space embarking on a new phase focused on energy efficiency and the well-being of its community.
In this phase of the project, we have conducted a detailed energy study of the main tower, the future home of the faculty offices, focusing on the performance of its façade.
🔍 What have we analyzed?
The solar radiation hitting each façade, according to its shading elements.
The energy response of the current building volume.
The strengths and opportunities for improvement to optimize energy demand.
🌞 Main conclusions so far:
The building, exposed to four different orientations, requires solar shading solutions adapted to each of its façades.
Initial analyses show remarkably uniform energy demand values, providing a solid foundation for developing strategies that minimize the need for air conditioning.
At the same time, optimal natural lighting is guaranteed throughout virtually the entire building, a key aspect for the comfort and environmental quality of the teaching space.
🏗️ Working on a landmark building like the ETSEIB is both a challenge and a responsibility. At OPTINOOS, we continue to contribute technical rigor and a sustainable vision to achieve an energy-efficient, comfortable environment aligned with current climate goals.
We would like to express our gratitude to the UTE TYPSA & TAC ARQUITECTES team, whose work and collaboration have been fundamental to the development of this project.
