Last Thursday we attended the conference organized by GBCE (Green Building Council Spain) and Saint-Gobain, “Environmental Sustainability in the New Version of the Technical Building Code.”

The Ministry of Urban Agenda and Architecture (MIVAU), along with Antonio Torres and Juan Queipo from the CSIC (Spanish National Research Council), explained the new features of the documents and how they will be incorporated into the new Building Code and supporting documentation.
It will be mandatory to calculate the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of buildings by 2028, and compliance limits will be in place from 2030 onwards.

As Dolores Huerta from GBCE commented, we need to anticipate and train to be prepared. At Optinoos, we are ready to optimize projects and products to address the urgent need for decarbonization.

And as Nicolás Bermejo, Technical and Sustainability Director at Saint-Gobain, remarked, every step counts, otherwise… it’s all just talk!
