During our stay in Alcalá de Henares for the GBCe Sustainability XL event, we had the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent guided tour of a city that is much more than a historical landmark: it is an example of how to preserve, enhance, and project heritage into the future.
Exploring Alcalá is like traveling through centuries of history. From ancient Roman Complutum to the university splendor fostered by Cardinal Cisneros, passing through the universal legacy of Miguel de Cervantes and the Golden Age of Spanish literature.

One of the most special moments was visiting the emblematic Paraninfo of the University of Alcalá, the venue where the Cervantes Prize, the most prestigious award in Spanish literature, is presented each year.

As sustainability professionals, these experiences remind us that building the future also involves conserving, restoring, and transmitting the value of our cultural and architectural heritage to future generations.
