Fira Barcelona Multifunctional Palau

Fira Barcelona Multifunctional Palau

We continue to make progress on one of the most iconic projects in the transformation of Montjuïc: the new Multifunctional Hall for Fira Barcelona.
At OPTINOOS, we have the opportunity to support the project team—comprising Smiljan Radić, Miquel Mariné, Beatriz Borque, and César Rueda—through the LEED BD+C v4 certification process and the verification of EU Taxonomy requirements, helping to integrate sustainability criteria from the design and construction phases onward.
The project is currently in the demolition phase, for which a pre-demolition audit was conducted to identify opportunities for recovering and repurposing materials. In parallel, we are defining and implementing a circular economy strategy designed to maximize resource reuse and minimize waste generation throughout the construction process.
Projects of this nature demonstrate how large-scale facilities can combine functionality, innovation, and sustainability by incorporating strategies aimed at reducing environmental impact, ensuring efficient resource use, and aligning with European climate objectives.
